MAP is a group of parents dedicated to enriching the educational experience of their children while they are students at Country Montessori. The organization supports the school, teachers and students through a series of fun, educational and family events held during the year. The group is similar to a Parent Teacher Association available at public schools. The director and teachers work with MAP to achieve its mission.
In past years, MAP activities have included a PumpkinFest celebration, book fair, Valentine’s Day Dance, movie night, Safety Street, planting day, the bug club, and Field Day. The group welcomes new ideas for activities and programs.
The group meets once a month at the school. At the beginning of each meeting, a half-hour question and answer forum is held with the school’s director.
MAP provides parents with the opportunity to meet new friends, share their time, talents, opinions and concerns. The group allows parents to be part of a team that works to create fun and educational events for their children and families.
The group relies on parents’ generous support to help host events and activities over the course of the year. Membership dues are $15 for a single child and $20 for a family of two or more children. The membership drive starts at the beginning of the school year.
MAP is governed by a Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At the end of each school year, there are openings for each board position. MAP encourages interested parents to join the board and provide their time and skills to the group.
Membership information is given to all families at the beginning of each new school year. Parents are encouraged to join throughout the year.
