With the help of parent volunteers as drivers and chaperones, the children will be participating in a few field trips this year. Please note the following:
- Field trip forms will have a section to indicate your availability to be a driver or chaperone. If you check off "YES" on the request for driver/chaperone section of the Field Trip Form, please assume you will be a driver unless you are otherwise notified. We appreciate parent participation in our field trips and your efforts help make them a success.
- Children must be in car seats, booster seats, or seat belted per Massachusetts State law. Parents must provide appropriate seat for their child for the field trips. Included is a copy of the seat belt law for your information.
- When returning to the school from a field trip, be sure to bring all children into the school (even if the child's parent is waiting in the school parking area). The staff must check in all children after returning to the school from a field trip and before they can be dismissed. It is the responsibility of the staff to personally dismiss the children to their parent or guardian.
- Please complete the enclosed Authorization Form, which contains information about your child that we will need in the event of an emergency and will be taken on all field trips. This form must be returned by Wednesday, September 6, 2000.
- Field Trip Permission Forms must be returned on/by the specified due dates. We must plan the driver/chaperone requirements and assign children to drivers well in advance of the day of the field trip. Failure to return the permission forms by the due dates will result in your child's exclusion from the field trip.
