As child care professionals, we are mandated by law to file a report of any suspected abuse or suspected neglect to the Department of Social Services. The Office for Child Care Services requires us to supply you with a copy of the procedure we would follow should the need arise.
In the event suspected neglect or abuse the staff member would.

1. Discuss the matter with the director, and immediately report such condition to D.S.S. by oral communication and by making a written report within forty-eight hours after such oral communication.
2. Observe and clearly document concerns.
3. The director and staff member will continue to monitor and follow up with D.S.S.
4. Confidentiality is assured and respected.
